Having enjoyed book one in this series, I was keen to see what the future had in store for Avry and Kerrick. As with many second books, this one sees the lovers torn apart and we follow their stories separately. I liked the way this was accomplished with the main thrust of each chapter being Avry's tale while Kerrick followed with a few pages of his own.
There continued to be some good character development - much more than in some second books - and the plot remained gripping and fast-paced. Several times, my husband commented that it must be a good book as I would always insist on reading a few more pages before lights out.
Naturally, the cliff-hanger ending left me screaming in frustration, but that's the way these things often go. I now need to wait patiently for the third book, which I hope won't be too far away as this continues to be an excellent series and a riveting tale.

I half enjoyed Healer #1, but did have some major problems with it. Thanks for your review. I will have to give the second installment a try.
