So, today is coffee mug day.

I have three I alternate between: the 'music' mug, the 'coffee' mug and the 'world' mug.

Actually, since I am typically English, I don't really drink coffee (except an occasional latte out and about), so these are used for tea, Milo or Hot Chocolate.

Book Excerpt & Promo: Wytchfire by Michael Meyerhofer

Today I welcome Michael Meyerhofer to the blog. Michael is here to share an excerpt and tell us about his latest release, Wytchfire....

Wytchfire, book one in a dark fantasy trilogy, is the story of Rowen Locke, a sardonic, aspiring knight set adrift in a brutal world where honor doesn’t fend off starvation and children are sometimes killed for having the wrong color eyes.  Though I’ve previously published a few award-winning books of poetry, this is my debut fantasy novel.

In a land haunted by the legacy of dead dragons, Rowen Locke has been many things: orphan, gravedigger, mercenary. All he ever wanted was to become a Knight of Crane and wield a kingsteel sword against the kind of grown horrors his childhood knows all too well. But that dream crumbled--replaced by a new nightmare. War is overrunning the realms, an unprecedented duel of desire and revenge, steel and sorcery. And for one disgraced man who would be a knight, in a world where no one is blameless, the time has come to decide which side he's on. Amazon Buy Link

This week's question: What are your favourite books of 2014 so far?

Well, I'm on my fiftieth book at present, halfway through my goal for the year (hooray), and stand out ones to date would be:

The Gospel of Loki by Joanne M. Harris
Burial Rites by Hannah Kent
The Prince of Mist by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Parade's End by Ford Madox Ford

These are mostly not ones released in 2014, many are older, but they are ones I've found for the first time this year.

New M/M (18+) Anthology Release: Love, Loss, Laughter & Lust

Out now from Wayward Ink Publishing: a new M/M anthology. I helped with edits on this book and can promise a great collection of diverse stories for all 18+ M/M fans.

We’ve all loved.We’ve all laughed.
Sadly, we’ve also probably all known loss in one form or another.
And, yes, we at Wayward Ink are sure we’ve all experienced lust!
In Love, Loss, Laughter & Lust, you'll experience one or more of the “L”s as we take you on a roller coaster of emotions.
Whether you like to sigh over the sweet, cry for the broken-hearted, enjoy a good laugh, or get a little hot
and bothered; there's something for everyone in this collection.

Stories included:

His Prince Wore Pink Stilettos by Julie Lynn Hayes

Guest Post: Sherrie Wouters, author of Life Lived Twice

Today I welcome author Sherri Wouters to the blog to tell us about her new release Life Lived Twice. Over to Sherrie....

Life Lived Twice is a romantic fantasy novel delving deep into the possibility of love across lifetimes.

The inspiration for Life Lived Twice came about because of my fascination with the dual phenomenon’s of reincarnation and love at first sight.

Love at first site is often the base of many romance novels, but what I wanted to explore was the reason behind it.

New Cyberpunk Story in the Works!

Well, I am currently working on a new cyberpunk story. I am about 7500 words into what I hope will be a novel of 55,000 - 60,000 words.
I'm feeling pretty good about where the story is heading and hope to have a first draft completed by late July/early August.
More news as things progress, but I can say that, if the book were filmed, I imagine Martin Freeman playing the lead character whose name is Martin Dent.
