Author Interview3 (+ giveaway) - Elizabeth Noble

Today I welcome Elizabeth Noble to the blog to answer a few questions for Author Interview³.

Elizabeth Noble Author Interview³

1) Tell us 3 fun facts about your writing history
I love to try new foods.
Mowing the lawn is one of my favorite activities.
My dog hears all about my plotting problems. I discuss them at length with her.

2) Describe your writing in three sentences or less
I do a lot of thinking about what should happen in a book before I write it, weather permitting a lot of that forethought takes place while mowing the lawn. I don’t really outline, but I will sometimes write a general synopsis of a book as a guide. Notes are written both in a physical journal and an online one, partial scenes are kept in my online journal until I have the right place for them.

3) Name 3 of your favourite genres
Science fiction
Action Adventure
Astronomy (non-fiction)

4) Share your 3 favourite authors
Glenda Larke
Rick R Reed
Michio Kaku

5) What are your 3 essential writing comforts?
I’m actually not very picky with my writing comforts. When it’s nice outside I like to write on my patio in the back yard. I do generally have music or a movie for background noise. My main beverages are coffee and tea. I drink both hot and iced depending on my mood and the time of year. Having someone to bounce ideas around with once or twice a week is very important to me.

6) Where are your 3 favourite places to read?
I don’t think I have a favorite reading spot. I’ll read wherever it’s convenient. I do a lot of reading at work while on break or in bed. I used to read while soaking in a bath, but electronic reading devices and tubs of water aren’t a good mix.

7) Name 3 books you wish you’d written
I don’t really have any books I’d wish I’d written. Sometimes I’ll read a book and think “I wish I’d come up with that idea”, but that’s about it. If I’d used the same idea the book would likely be completely different because I’m a different person. Writing is, to me, such a personal thing and each writer is unique in their approach to a story. That would be like me saying I wanted to have someone else’s personality.

8) What are your top 3 tips for book marketing?
Make sure readers know about sales.
If you use Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or any other social media, keep your book talk to 1 in 4 posts. Personally, I think the best part of these platforms is seeing pics of other peoples’ pets.
Interact with and be approachable to readers.

9) Tell us 3 of your writing plans for the year ahead
I have a BDSM romance under consideration with Carina Press and another Dreamspun Desires awaiting a release date from Dreamspinner Press. I have three different novels I’m working on right now with the goal of getting them submitted in the next three-ish months. Two are urban fantasy, one is a romantic suspense.

10) Tell us about your latest release
My latest release was High Test, which is part of Dreamspinner Press’s Dreamspun Desires line. It was a bit of a different book for me to write. It’s a sweet romance with no mystery, or monsters. There is a combination of the May/December and Cinderella tropes which was a lot of fun to write. I love researching different geographical locations. Since this book takes place in a city I’ve never been to, it was easy for me to get lost in articles and photos while I investigated the area.

Hayden Owens is just your typical graduate student working his way through school as a barista for the Owens Coffee Company—no relation. But he keeps the “no relation” part to himself when he meets dashing, older Neal Kirchner, a successful architect from an old-money family. Hayden doesn’t exactly lie, but he figures it can’t hurt for Neal to believe he’s a rich kid. After all, Hayden doesn’t want Neal thinking he’s a gold digger.

The closer they become, the harder it gets for Hayden to come clean. Something always seems to get in the way. When a company bankruptcy and a jilted, vindictive woman threaten to expose his charade, Hayden thinks it’s all gone down the drain. Luckily Neal is ready with some innocent trickery of his own.

About the Author

Mystery, action, chills, and thrills spiced with romance and desire. Elizabeth Noble started telling stories before she actually knew how to write, and her family was very happy when she learned to put words on a page. Those words turned into books and fan fiction that turned into a genuine love of M/M romance fiction. Being able to share her works with others is really a dream come true. She has a real love for a good mystery complete with murder and twisty plots as well as all things sci-fi, futuristic, and supernatural and a bit of an unnatural interest in a super-volcano in Wyoming.
Elizabeth has three grown children, two grandchildren, and is now happily owned by an adorable mixed-breed canine princess and her sidekick tabby cat. Elizabeth lives in her native northeast Ohio, the perfect place for gardening and winter and summer sports (go Tribe and Cavs!) and stargazing all year long. When she’s not writing, she’s working as a veterinary nurse, so don’t be surprised to see her men with a pet or three who are a very big part of their lives.
Elizabeth has received a number of amateur writing awards. Since being published, several of her novels have received Honorable Mentions in the Rainbow Awards. Jewel Cave was a runner-up in the Gay Mystery/Thriller category in the 2015 Rainbow Awards. Ringed Love was a winner in the Gay Fantasy Romance category of the 2016 Rainbow Awards.
