Weekend Blog Hops - 23 February 2018

It's the weekend once more. That means it's time for my book blogger hopping....

Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not?
I keep them on. I can't say why exactly; it's simply never occurred to me to take them off.

Opening sentence:
Tesara woke with a gasp, blinking in the dim candlelight, as her mother shook her awake.

From page 56:
No matter how bad he was, he somehow always managed to make her feel as if she were worse than he was, when in reality they were the same, the two ne'er-do-wells who were forever making mistakes and always being taken to task.

My Current Read
The Sisters Mederos
Patrice Sarath

Two sisters fight with manners, magic, and mayhem to reclaim their family’s name, in this captivating historical fantasy adventure.

House Mederos was once the wealthiest merchant family in Port Saint Frey. Now the family is disgraced, impoverished, and humbled by the powerful Merchants Guild. Daughters Yvienne and Tesara Mederos are determined to uncover who was behind their family's downfall and get revenge. But Tesara has a secret – could it have been her wild magic that caused the storm that destroyed the family's merchant fleet? The sisters’ schemes quickly get out of hand – gambling is one thing, but robbing people is another…

Together the sisters must trust each another to keep their secrets and save their family.

  5. I admit I take the covers off. I'm so rough on them and so they stay in better shape if I don't keep them on. My husband, on the other hand, leaves them on. He often teases me when my daughter immediately takes the dust cover off of her books when she first brings them home--having picked up my habit. She even uses my reasoning! :-)

The Sisters Mederos sounds good. I like the love that cover!

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Oh yes, I can see keeping them undamaged would be a good reason for removal. I am always super careful with books anyway. I try to crease spines as little as possible etc. Happy Hopping.

  12. I did use to leave the DJs on years ago. When I saw that they were getting a lot of edge wear, and thus looked AWFUL, I decided to start taking them off before I began to read the books. I just CAN'T stand to see edge wear on a DJ! Lol.

Your reading choice for this week is just AMAZING!! I'm adding it to my Goodreads shelves just as soon as I finish posting this comment!! Thanks for featuring it!! :) :)

Thanks as well for commenting on my own BBH post! <3 <3 :) :) So sorry for the late comment back....:(
