Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.
(Goodreads Synopsis)

I enjoyed the first book in this series, but often second books seem to be the weakness, so I braced myself for that as I started to read The Eternity Cure.  To my delight, Ms Kagawa did not fall into that second book slump. Rather, I liked this second offering just as much as the first.

Allison continues with her quest and really grows in both strength and understanding throughout the novel. Her relationships with those around her are believable and well-developed and the book moves at a good pace with a nice blend of action and reflection.

If you enjoyed book one, The Eternity Cure will more than meet your expectations. If you've not yet tried the series, what are you waiting for? I can highly recommend it to all YA Paranormal fans and I will be looking forward to book three.
