Well, I live in the suburbs of Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. Our home is about a 20 minute drive from the city centre.
Adelaide is a fairly small, compact capital city compared with Melbourne and Sydney in the eastern states. Sometimes I wish for more diversity in the shops, but it has a great selection of cafes and restaurants and a pretty good arts scene for a city of its size.
Here are a couple of images I found to share with you all. Greetings from Adelaide, Australia!
A birds-eye view of the city. This is slightly old. There has recently been a lot of work done on the oval and around the river.
Rundle Mall, the main city shopping street, and the famous 'Mall's Balls'.
The Barossa Valley wine region is just 1 hour's drive north of the city.
And the beach at Glenelg is just a 20-30-minute drive from the centre, or a 30 minutes tram ride.
*sighs* Australia is one country I really want to be able to visit one day! It's just so far away, and I always have trouble sleeping on the plane... Your pictures of Adelaide are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing.
