A quiet teen's life is shaken up when she's forced to be her arrogant neighbor's servant. He loves her, but they both have a lot to learn about trust. (Synopsis)

Hot Gimmick: Girl Meets Boy was a bit of a mess of a movie. The synopsis sounded interesting and drew me in, but I really don't think it accurately portrayed what the film was about, perhaps because the film itself didn't seem to know what it was about. The storytelling was all over the place. The main female character was so naive and clueless she felt like a caricature at times, while the male characters were all jerks in one way or another, so it was hard to see why she would want to be with any of them. The soundtrack of predominantly classical music also left me scratching my head, as the music played never seemed to work with the scene taking place; it felt like music slapped in just to have something there. I watched until the end, but only because I was using it as Japanese listening practice. Not a film I would watch again or recommend.
