Film Review: Slate (2020) (Fantasy)

Jo Bareun (Director)
Ahn Ji-hye, Lee Min-ji
SBS On Demand

Yeon-hee always had dreams of becoming a heroine. Now in her late 20s, she is transported from a movie set to a parallel world where she gets the chance to live her dream. (Synopsis)

Slate was an entertaining fantasy movie overall. It had a slightly slow start, but by the middle I was enjoying the story and the action sequences. I liked the premise, and Yeon-hee as the main character, but I would have liked to have seen more development of the antagonists, who were a bit two-dimensional. If you are looking for an easy-going action movie you can just let wash over you, without requiring a ton of concentration, Slate is worth checking out. It gets 3.5 stars from me.
