A determined prosecutor becomes consumed with the case of a missing 13-year-old and goes to extreme lengths to get to the truth. Based on a real case. (Synopsis)

Yara was an interesting drama, not least because it was based on a real case from about 12 years ago. The story moved at a good pace and I enjoyed the performances of the lead actors. Most interesting, though, was seeing the way in which the investigation into Yara's disappearance progressed, and how the choices made by the lead investigator eventually led to finding the culprit, who, if the investigation had gone in a different direction might never have been caught. Although, it is worth noting that the notes at the end of the film state the man, currently in prison, still claims to be innocent. If you are interested in crime drama and/or true crime stories, this film will be worth a watch. It gets 4 stars from me.
