Dexter Morgan is not your average serial killer. He enjoys his day job as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department, but he lives for his nighttime hobby of hunting other killers. Dexter is therefore not pleased to discover that someone is shadowing him, observing him, and copying his methods.

For me, Double Dexter was one of the most enjoyable of the Dexter books. I liked the tension as Dexter tried to work out who was mirroring him, and it was good to see him returning a little to his former self after the 'softening' of recent volumes. It gets 4 stars from me. For anyone interested in this series, I would recommend reading in order though, as past characters and events are often references and you will miss a lot of the nuance and links if you read out of order.
