TV Review: The K2 (2016) (Action-Drama)

The K2 (더 케이투)

Ji Chang-wook, Song Yoon-a

A fugitive soldier gets swept up in personal and political intrigue when he's hired as a bodyguard for the family of a presidential candidate. (Synopsis)

The K2 was a fun drama in many ways, especially since Ji Chang-wook makes a great action hero. Although, if I had to pick between this show and Healer, the latter would win. The plot of The K2 was interesting; however, I had trouble investing in the romance side of things. I felt sorry for Anna when we first met her, but as we got to know her more, I developed an intense dislike for her. She was naive, needy and selfish, and I simply couldn't see why our hero would fall in love with her and (several times) nearly die for her, and that spoilt my engagement with the show a bit. Still, the fight scenes were great and it's always good to watch Ji Chang-wook, so I am still giving this series 4 stars.
