A software developer and her friends get caught in a web of murder and crime involving the dating app she built and a mysterious man lurking nearby. (Synopsis)

Somebody was an interesting series on many levels. Although the basic premise has been done before, there were enough new elements here to give it a fresh feel and the cinematography was excellent. The cast all gave superb performances too, some of which were quite mesmerising to watch. However, there were downsides to the show too, the first of which was the pacing. There were some scenes that dragged on far too long, while others ended abruptly when more detail would have been good. Secondly, I was aghast at the stupidity of some of the characters. Yeong Gi-eun (supporting characters) was supposed to work in the police force, yet her decisions at times had me tearing my hair out when she kept heading into clearly dubious situations alone, with no thought for her personal safety. So, a bit of a mixed bag of a show, but the good outweighed the bad for me and I recommend it to fans of psychological thrillers. I'm giving the series 4 stars.
