From the mind of horror manga maestro Junji Ito comes a spine-tingling selection of some of his most bizarre, disturbing and terrifying tales. (Synopsis)
Japanese Tales of the Macabre was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I'd suggested to my husband that we watch it together, but he gave up after the first episode, and I could understand why, as the opening story was very lacklustre and unimpressive. However, I decided to persevere and some of the episodes that followed did comprise more memorable and interesting tales. Yet, it was certainly the case throughout that some episodes entertained me and others left me unmoved. As such, I am giving it three stars. It's worth a watch if you are a huge fan of the horror anime, but if you are on the fence, maybe give it a miss.
