Enter a world of gods, mortals and monsters . . .

Atia is an immortal trickster who feeds on fear. As the last of her kind, she thinks herself safe from the wrath of the unpredictable Gods.

Silas is a Herald, carrying messages and ferrying the dead as punishment from the Gods for a past crime he can't remember.

Atia would never dream of working with a servant of the gods, but when she breaks a sacred law, Silas offers her a deal: he'll help her avenge her family and take on the Gods. In return, she must help him break the curse that binds him and restore his humanity. All they need to do is kill three powerful creatures: a vampire, a banshee and one of the very Gods who destroyed both their lives. Only together can they finally rewrite their destinies.

The Night Hunt was a middling YA fantasy read for me. The opening definitely caught my interest. The characters and the story premise were all intriguing, and I was initially well invested in the story. The world building was nicely handled and the action moved along at a good pace throughout. Where things fell down for me a little was in the latter half of the book where the romance moved more to the foreground. The characters had interested me at first, but they later felt a little flat and unchanging, while the romance between the two main characters felt, to me at least, a little forced and I didn't buy into it. As such, I am giving this book 3.5 stars. Not everything worked for me, but enough did that I would suggest it's worth a read if you are a huge fan of the genre.

I received this book as a free eBook ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
