While at the royal ball with Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood finds herself in the middle of a mystery. Can she solve the case before midnight strikes? (Synopsis)

Is Once Upon a Crime a film with an amazing script and such stunning performances it deserves an Oscar? In short, no. The acting is hammy, the story a stretch and the dialogue pretty inane. However, it has its amusing moments and if you love fairytales and just want something easy and mindless to watch to pass two hours for a bit of lighthearted fun, it's worth a single watch. I am giving it three stars. It's certainly not mindblowing, but neither is it the worst thing I have ever sat through. For Japanese listening practice and because I am a fan of quirky fairytale retellings, I am giving it three stars. Just don't go in with your expectations too high and treat it as a popcorn movie.
