David Fincher (Director)
After a fateful near miss, an assassin battles his employers — and himself — on an international hunt for retribution he insists isn't personal. (Synopsis)
The Killer was a slow-burn thriller. It had a quiet start but soon built up, the pacing adding to the tightly-wound tension throughout. Despite being slowly paced, it never dragged or felt too long thanks to careful editing and a masterful, controlled performance by Michael Fassbender. This is not a high-adrenaline watch, but it is a beautifully sculptured piece of storytelling with intense performances and nicely thought-out shots. Well worth a watch. I am giving it 4.5 stars.
