Having bought all the related books for the Lord of the Rings films, I thought I'd continue my collection with The Hobbit releases.

It was nice to read about the background of the characters, particularly all the dwarves, but in other ways it lacked substance when compared to its companion Movie Guide.

Good for a collector, but anyone interested in the making of the film should check out the Movie Guide instead.
