When Branson, Missouri, is hit with a death wave-four unsolved murders-it doesn't take an expert to realize that all is not well. But luckily for the locals, Anita is an expert-in just the kinds of preternatural goings-on that have everyone spooked. And she's got an "in" with just the kind of creature who can make sense of the slayings: a sexy master vampire known as Jean Claude. (Goodreads Synopsis)

I still enjoyed Bloody Bone, the fifth book in the Anita Blake series. The returning characters are as fun as always and nice to see Jean Claude back a bit more. Also I appreciated some of the new characters who appeared in this book - Seraphina was delightfully evil - but I felt a bit let down by Bloody Bones himself. He had to the potential to be a cool character and a great adversary for Anita, but he was somewhat overshadowed by the vampire action and then it was all over. Anyhow, on to book six....
