The All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, featuring historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont, delves into mythology, alchemy, literature and architecture. And history is brought to life.

The World of All Souls is the ultimate companion for fans of the All Souls trilogy and unlocks this fantastical world, letting you in on all its secrets and mysteries.

As a fan of the All Souls trilogy, I couldn't resist getting a copy of this book, and overall I wasn't disappointed. The companion delves into the history and mythology behind events and characters in the series, accompanied by some lovely illustrations. I was already familiar with most of the history and myth, but there was some new information I found interesting. I only wish Harkness had included something behind the scenes for the making of the TV series, but perhaps she will release a separate book for that later. On the whole, though, this is a lovely addition to the library of any All Souls fan. 4.5 stars.
