Prior to watching Tick, Tick... Boom!, I was only familiar with Rent and had not realised Larson had written two other shows prior to that, so the movie was interesting in that it gave me more background on Larson and his works. The musical numbers were excellently staged and Andrew Garfield gave a wonderful performance as Larson. It had been a while since I last watched a new movie musical, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even if it's not one I see myself playing on repeat or constantly singing the songs from. Therefore, I am giving it four stars overall. It's well worth checking out if you are a musical theatre fan.
