Inseparable childhood friends Shou-heng and Cheng-shing have their world thrown into chaos when a new girl comes to town and falls for Shou-heng. (Netflix Synopsis)

Eternal Summer was a slow and thoughtful drama focusing on the change in dynamic between two friends (one of whom is secretly in love with the other) when a girl comes between them. Despite the slow pace, this movie never felt plodding, and I thought the main three actors all gave good, emotional performances. The BL aspects were mostly kept understated/implied save for one explicit scene. It bugged me that the English subtitles anglicised the characters names, as there didn't seem to be any need or reason for it. But other than that, this was an enjoyable movie. It gets four stars from me.
