Little Women was not at all what I expected when I first started watching. I knew it was very loosely based on the Alcott novel, and I could see that initially in the characters and their situation. I'd imagined it as an emotional drama, and it seemed that way for the first couple of episodes; however, it quickly developed into a storyline that was more political thriller with a hint of mystery! It certainly held my interest throughout, with good pacing, intriguing symbolism, and excellent cinematography. I am giving it 4.5 stars.
