The Eternals, a race of immortal beings with superhuman powers who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years, reunite to battle the evil Deviants. (Synopsis)

I have been a fierce MCU fan for many years, but I confess I struggled a little with Eternals. For the first hour of the film, I couldn't invest myself in the characters. There were so many of them I could only remember the names of about half through the beginning of the movie (and in a couple of cases I still didn't have them firmly in my mind by the end), probably because, aside from the main players, we only saw them in flashes here and there. Luckily, things picked up around the midway point as the cast came back together in the present day and more of the plot line was fleshed out. There were some good action sequences, but nothing that left me gasping with excitement. However, I will be interested to see how the Eternals will be incorporated into the bigger picture in future films, along with the couple of other characters teased at the end of this movie. Eternals was still an enjoyable film overall, but it's definitely nearer the bottom of the list in terms of my MCU faves, so I can only give it four stars.
