Barbie is not a film I would have imagined myself watching, but I heard so many positive comments about it that, one night when I had some time to spare, I decided to quickly check it out. I can certainly say it wasn't what I had expected. I had anticipated frivolous nonsense, but it actually had some pretty good messages and themes, and it entertained me from start to finish. Perhaps it's not a film I'd want to rewatch again and again, but I did enjoy this initial viewing and would recommend it to others, so I am giving it four stars.
